Cobra Kai season 4 officially wraps filming as Martin Kove applauds ‘fearless’ crew
Cobra Kai has officially wrapped filming for season four, with resident tough nut Martin Kove paying homage to all who worked on the latest episodes of the martial arts series.
Originally launching on YouTube Red in 2018 before moving over to Netflix three years later, Cobra Kai follows on from the story of The Karate Kid movies, with Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprising their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence respectively.
Martin also returned as the hardened John Kreese, back to stir up trouble in the dojo just like in the original 1980s flicks.
Just a few months after production for season four began, Martin confirmed in a social media post that filming on the upcoming instalment is now over.
‘Tonight, myself and the entire crew of COBRA KAI S4 officially wrapped! What a season, And what a year,’ he wrote, alongside a black-and-white photo of himself.
‘A crew that is fearless and shows no mercy, through Covid we pushed on, we striked first and with a cast that strikes hard! @jonhurwitz @healdrules & @haydenschlossberg101 you have more energy than I knew was humanly possible. The Captains of our cobra Kai ship, leading us to glory daily, without your leadership we would be lost in the waters,’ he added, paying tribute to the show’s creators.
Martin wrote that he ‘couldn’t be more humbled to work alongside’ Ralph and William, saying that they both ‘put the work in day in and day out’.
Lastly, he wrote: ‘And to the fans…..well….the real story has only just begun….but you know that!
‘So get ready because COBRA KAI….NEVER…DIES!!!! -John Kreese.’
Jon Hurwitz also shared a post, showing a picture of him and his fellow co-creators Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg raising a drink to their achievement.
‘We’re going, going, back, back, to Cali, Cali! Cobra Kai Season 4 is officially WRAPPED!’ he wrote in the caption.
‘It was a challenging adventure filming a season of TV during a pandemic, but our cast and crew waxed on, struck hard, and bit like eagles each and every day. The end result will be our most ambitious season yet!’
A release date for Cobra Kai season four is yet to be announced.
The first three seasons of Cobra Kai are available to watch on Netflix.
