Game of Talents viewers astounded as sausage-swallowing speed eater inhales nearly 12 frankfurters in seconds
Game of Talents viewers were stunned on Saturday night as they watched a woman swallow almost a dozen whole sausages in the space of just a few seconds.
Host Vernon Kay was joined by contestant Phil and his celebrity partner, Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse, and player Gillian and her famous sidekick, comedian Joel Dommett, as they competed for a cash prize.
The pairs were given a number of talents including an escapologist, singing impressionist and spider wrangler to match to the different people who appeared on stage.
After the teams locked in a guess against the talented person standing in front of them, the stars revealed their skill to confirm if they were right or wrong.
Those watching from home were just as shocked as the players by what they saw unfold, as a woman called Leah shoved whole sausages in her mouth as quickly as possible – with viewers warned not to try it at home.
Taking to Twitter after watching the scenes, one wrote: ‘Holy smokes! She’s a speed eater! Where did those hot dogs go? #GameOfTalents’
Another person posted: ‘I can’t believe I’ve just watched a girl swallow half a dozen hot dog sausages whole in quick succession. Shook #GameOfTalents’
While someone else asked: ‘Anyone else’s husband mesmerised by her sausage swallowing skills?’
Host Vernon Kay went to great lengths to stay Covid-safe while filming Game of Talents as he had to remain apart from wife Tess Daly – having previously spent weeks away from her when he was on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year.
During an appearance on The One Show earlier recently, hosts Alex Jones and Rylan Clark-Neal spoke to Vernon about how he was apart from Tess while recording the show, aside from when they starred on an episode together.
Recalling the joy of being in the same bubble while filming Game of Talents together, Vernon said: ‘I’d been recording the show and I’d been away for 10 days at a time, two weeks in total, and I hadn’t seen her for a while.
‘So it was kind of like, “Yeah!” So because we’re in the same bubble, we could actually mix and high five.’
Game of Talents airs on ITV1 on Saturday night at 7.30pm and is available on ITV Hub.
