Is Steph Curry Playing Tonight? Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets: Injuries, Lineups, and Game Prediction

It feels like ages since the Warriors last enjoyed a win percentage of 52% or more in the current season. They’ve been alternating between winning and losing streaks at regular intervals. But the next 10 days are posing a genuine chance for them to change that.

The first team that they’ll meet in this crucial stretch are the Houston Rockets. Now, the Rockets are the weakest side in the league (ignoring their heroics against the Bucks) and hence an opportunity for GSW to get back on their feet.

Still, how do both the teams weigh against one another?

For the Rockets, the list is bigger and damaging. Both Eric Gordon (Groin) and DJ Augustin (Ankle) are out with no timetable around their return. Also, starter David Nwaba (Wrist), point guard Dante Exum (Calf), and star player John Wall (Hamstring tweak) are not returning this season. Then, Danuel House Jr. and Sterling Brown (Knee) are listed out while Avery Bradley stays questionable.

Probable Lineup – Kelly Olynyk (F), Jae’Sean Tate (F), Christian Wood (C), Kevin Porter Jr (G), Aaron Brooks (G)

For the Warriors, the injury list has been lengthy throughout the year. Veteran Klay Thompson and star rookie James Wiseman are already out for the season. Also, big man Eric Paschall is yet to recover from his hip injury. Next up, Kelly Oubre Jr (wrist) remains a day-to-day decision, having already missed eight games. Lastly, shooting guard Damion Lee is still out because of the Covid protocols and might not play this week.

Possible lineup – Andrew Wiggins (F), Draymond Green (F), Kevon Looney (C), Stephen Curry (G), and Kent Bazemore (G)

One can not disregard the Rockets entirely, given their heroic night against Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks. Although Giannis played for just one minute, the way Kevin Porter Jr scored a 50-point double-double was an act of bravery. The Rockets definitely lack their shot stealing hand in John Wall, but they can still surprise the Warriors.

The GSW, on the other hand, are desperate for a win because they still have their #8 seed dreams alive. With Stephen Curry’s 96 threes in April, this game marking the first of May can set the point guard for yet another iconic month.

Also, Andrew Wiggins and even Kent Bazemore can prove helpful in taking the offense. However, the Warriors will need to keep their rebounding issues in check if they’re to dominate.

Not so surprisingly, we predict a clear winner in the needy Warriors.
