WATCH: Blazers’ Damian Lillard Buries Brooklyn Nets with Back-to-back Logo Threes

The Blazers are finally back in the form after the forgetful stretch where they lost five in a row. Their biggest win of the month came on Friday night against the Nets. The Blazers stunned the Brooklyn-based table toppers and beat them by 19 points.

The star of the night remained Damian Lillard, who finally looked like his real self after a long time. Thanks to him, it was a complete Blazers show after the first quarter.

The Big Game Dame had a rough April month where he did not play like the clutch Lillard as the world knows him. His 12-point game against the Heat and then missing three consecutive games because of a hamstring injury hurt the Blazers really bad. However, it all changed against the Nets where Logo Lillard did complete justice with his well-deserved nickname. 

With under two minutes remaining in the third quarter, the star point guard dropped back-to-back logo threes to give the Blazers a convincing 15-point lead. His 34-ft three-pointer instantly became the highlight of the night and Brooklyn Nets could not recover after that blow. Take a look – 

With this win over the EC toppers, the Blazers now 34-28 with a real chance to take up that coveted #5 position in the WC standings.

How did the Blazers dismantle Brooklyn Nets?

Interestingly, Damian Lillard had scored exactly 23 points in each of his last three games. But tonight, against the Nets, he bettered that with its reverse, scoring 32 points and dropping 8 three-pointers. He received enough offensive support from the double-double of center Jusuf Nurkic and a 19-point night from forward Norman Powell. Veteran Carmelo Anthony led the bench with 15 points at 45.5% shooting, taking it all away from the Nets.

Kyrie Irving, leading in the absence of Kevin Durant and James Harden, scored 28 points but failed to keep themselves in the game. With Tyler Johnson missing each of his attempts, scoring zero, and Landry Shamet having a forgetful offensive night, the Nets had no answers. This loss against the Blazers can hurt the Nets’ chances to stay at #1 because they have a very tough next week.
