WATCH: Lakers’ LeBron James Passes a No-look Towards KCP and Instead Finds Referee

The Lakers finally had their battery power back to 100% with LeBron James in the squad. It appeared like a misfortune for Sacramento Kings that the league king chose this game to brush some rust off his formerly injured ankle. However, the Kings somehow managed to upset the Lakers.

The Lake Show picked up late as they allowed the Spurs’ Tyrese Haliburton to dominate the first quarter. However, the early spotlight was only on the Akron Hammer whose made attempts and also those erroneous passes became the talking point.

When LeBron James mistook the referee as his teammate

LeBron James showed up in the #23 jersey after 40 days of missing the action. His last-minute addition to the playing squad turned heads as the entire NBA fraternity glued to screens to see how his aging body responds after a stretched return.

In one circus of an instance, Dennis Schroder‘s pass into Anthony Davis‘s hands led to a funny outcome. Just as AD lost his chances of a layup, he sent an interior pass towards Andre Drummond but instead found Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Just as KCP missed his three-point attempt, Andre with a rebound sent the ball to LeBron James. The L-Train, instead of shooting, passed a no-Look towards a referee, assuming KCP would be there for the grab. Take a look at how the commentator as well as Shaquille O’Neal made fun of the hysterical pass –

Until Q1, Bron had 5 points under his name, three of which came from FTs.

The Kings came back punishing the Lakers

After trailing in double figures at the beginning of Q4, the Kings made an inspiring return. In the night of comebacks, where the Celtics came cruising from behind to defeat the Spurs, the Kings made their contribution too. At one point in the fourth quarter, the Kings were 22-9 ahead of the Lakers, forcing the hosts to push harder. Even as Anthony Davis had a memorable night as a defender (5 blocks), they failed to stop the Kings from charging guns. Just as Tyrese Haliburton took those two clutch FTs and KCP missed a buzzer-beater three-pointer, the Lakers lost yet again.

Richaun Holmes with 22 points and four bench players scoring in double figures ensured a 110-106 victory for the 25-win Kings. LeBron’s 16 points in 32 minutes could do no good as the Lakers struggled from the perimeter and endured too many turnovers.
