‘Why Should I Always Get Shafted?’ – Derek Chisora Gives His Take on Ring Walk Dispute Against Joseph Parker
Derek Chisora is all set to enter a mammoth tussle with Joseph Parker this weekend. The contest between these two has the ability to mold the heavyweight roster for even bigger fights in the future. Also, this bout is important for both the fighters too, as they have championship aspirations.
But it seems the fight’s future is in jeopardy, as ‘War’ Chisora may withdraw because of a ring walk dispute.
In conversation with iFL TV, he said, “It’s my PPV. Last time I did it (went first) because they were like, ‘Usyk‘s this and this,’ I was like, ‘Fine’. Now, why should I always get shafted? If fans were out, the fans would be buying a ticket to watch me, not Parker.” (h/t Michael Benson)
‘War’ wanted to make his ring walk after Joseph Parker. But as the former lost a coin toss, he will have to make his ring walk first, and this has upset him. Ahead of the fight, a frustrated Derek Chisora spoke to Sky Sports and said-
“They want to do a coin flip, who comes in the ring first and who comes in the ring second. I was like, ‘Nah, not doing that. Either I come in second or I’ll go home right now!”
