Call Of Duty: Warzone apologises for technical issues with free skin

Anyone who logs into Call Of Duty: Warzone before season three wraps up will receive a free Operator skin for Adler.

To kick off the third season of content for Call Of Duty: Warzone (at least, the third season since Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War released), Activision added a new limited time event called the Hunt for Adler.

Unfortunately, the event was scuppered by technical issues. In fact, these issues were so severe that everybody will be receiving the event’s new skin as an apology.

The Hunt for Adler event involved needing to collect three pieces of intel scattered across the new Verdansk map. Collecting all the pieces would earn you the Tortured and Rescued Adler skin.

For some players, the game wasn’t keeping track of their completion progress. Not only that, but sometimes the intel would spawn outside of the map, meaning it couldn’t be collected.

Raven Software did get round to fixing the issues but, by that point, the event was nearly over. Rather than extend the event to give everyone enough time to complete the task, the studio has opted to just give the skin away for free.

The skin should be automatically added to players’ accounts. So, all you need to do is log into your Warzone account, select the Operators menu tab, and the Tortured and Rescued skin should be available when customising Adler.

Raven Software has stated that it will only be available until the end of Season 3, but that should be enough time for everyone to access it since the season has only just started and seasons tend to last for two months.

With how profitable Warzone has been for Activision, the company seems to want as many studios as possible to help support it. Aside from both Raven Software and Infinity Ward continuing to work on the game, Activision recently enlisted Toys for Bob as well.

And while it hasn’t technically been announced yet, it’s believed Sledgehammer Games is developing this year’s Call Of Duty game. No official details have been revealed, but there have been rumours that it will once again focus on the Second World War.

Call Of Duty: Warzone is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
