Cameron Tringale Accumulates Undesirable PGA Tour Records

Cameron Tringale entered the 2021 Valspar Championship with zero victories in his PGA Tour career. While he did not win the Innisbrook Resort tournament, Tringale garnered two unimpressive tour records upon the conclusion of the event. He achieved a good finish at the Copperhead Course, but he now leads the tour in a very unique list.

Cameron Tringale finished third at the 2021 Valspar Championship and tied with Viktor Hovland for the position. This marked Tringale’s second Top 3 finish this season, and he received a payout of $407,100 for his effort.

This lucrative payout skyrocketed Tringale’s career earnings to $13,860,842. With this, Cameron Tringale became the player with the highest career earnings to have never won a PGA Tour title.

It is surprising because Tringale has made more money in his career than multiple-major winners Tom Watson ($11,081,140), Bernhard Langer ($10,759,526), and John Daly ($10,270,681).

It was Englishman Brian Davis who had previously topped the list with career earnings of $13,374,228. Davis had been carrying the burden for a long time, but Tringale overtook him with a solid performance at the 2021 Valspar Championship.

Tringale also mentioned that he was unaware of the record heading into the Valspar Championship. However, he will not rest easy knowing about it now.

Cameron Tringale has made the most starts without a win on the PGA Tour

Tringale turned pro in 2009 and has been an active competitor on the PGA Tour ever since 2010. While he’s yet to win a tournament, Cameron Tringale has three runner-up finishes in his career.

Cameron Tringale moved to the 146th spot on the all-time money list with his Valspar Championship winnings. However, he hasn’t won a PGA Tour event having made 299 starts. He now holds the most starts without a win on the tour since 2009.

However, one shouldn’t judge Tringale’s talent based on this metric alone. He’s been incredibly consistent with his game and the results state the same as well. He’s missed only four cuts in 17 starts this season and has recorded four Top 10 finishes.

The 33-year-old will play at the Wells Fargo Championship next, and will also compete at the 2021 PGA Championship. Tringale has been chasing the elusive PGA Tour title for more than a decade, and he’s been falling short every season. Will 2021 prove to be the lucky year for the California native?
