Jaguars’ Travis Etienne Says Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey Influenced Him to Become a Pass-Catching Running Back

Jacksonville Jaguars have placed their faith in Clemson. The Jags used their number one overall pick to bring Trevor Lawrence to Duval. Then, with their 25th overall pick, they brought in another Clemson star in Travis Etienne.

The idea is to combine a successful duo from the collegiate scene in the NFL. But what can Jaguars fans expect from Etienne going into the new season?

In an interview with Jordan Palmer, the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ newest running back, Travis Etienne, was asked about modern running backs like Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey. Palmer wanted to know whether Etienne used their game as a blueprint to prepare himself for the NFL.

The #25 draft pick said, “Most definitely. I’ve seen Alvin and Chris just do this week in and week out. Just to see what those guys do every Sunday, my brain went off – ‘if I work hard, I can do this’…Just be a weapon for my team.”

Travis Etienne shows respect to Kamara and McCaffrey

Both Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey have found brilliant success in the NFL with their play. They have introduced a completely unique element to the general game of a running back. And if Etienne can reach their level of play during his time with Jacksonville, Urban Meyer will be pleased with his decision.

Etienne will also help Trevor Lawrence acclimatize to Jacksonville a lot better. Having a familiar face in your team always lets you feel at home a lot sooner. Furthermore, the two have fostered a fruitful relationship with each other. And if the duo can replicate the connection that they fostered in Clemson, the Jacksonville Jaguars fans will be thrilled with the first-round draft picks.

Given how poorly the team played last year, the running back will have opportunities to prove himself. Furthermore, Etienne will take very little time in adjusting to the offense given that the same person who was making plays for him in Clemson will run it. Will Travis Etienne be a success in Jacksonville?
