Rebel Wilson has shared a candid insight into her personal life, as she opened up on receiving ‘bad news’ about her fertility.

The 41-year-old actress has been open about her plans for a family, recently revealing her decision to freeze her eggs.

However in a heartbreaking post to social media on Sunday evening, the Pitch Perfect star – who recently split with Jacob Busch – reached out to fans after receiving some rough news – but insisted that there’s ‘light about to shine through all the dark clouds’.

She wrote on Instagram alongside a shot of her on the coast: ‘I got some bad news today and didn’t have anyone to share it with … but I guess I gotta tell someone.

‘To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya. The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense … but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds. (sic).’

The star – who battles polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) – previously opened up about her ‘year of health’, which saw her lose 66lbs, and how freezing her eggs inspired her to take a look at her overall health.

She said of her decision to freezer her eggs: ‘As all good career women out there should know, if that’s something that interests you, it’s a pretty good time to do it.

‘Getting to 40s is kind of even leaving it a little too late. It’s better to do it a bit earlier if you can.’

She went on: ‘I was thinking about fertility and having good quality eggs in the bank, so I was like, ‘okay, I’m going to do this, I’m going to get healthy.’

Incredibly open about her fitness journey and weight loss, Rebel has since said she’s been treated differently since shedding the equivalent of five stone.

She said: ‘I think what’s been really interesting is how other people treat you. Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you.

‘Now that I’m in good shape, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you. I’m like, is this what other people experienced all the time? … I also find it interesting that people pay so much attention to a weight-loss transformation, when there’s so much going on in the world.’
