What Does Success Mean for Trevor Lawrence? Jaguars Quarterback Gets Candid in Interview

It was no secret that Urban Meyer-coached Jacksonville Jaguars were interested in highly-rated college quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Clemson Tigers superstar impressed during his 3-year college career in the ACC. He led Clemson to the CFP National Championship in 2018 as a true freshman.

Trevor finished his college football career with 10,000+ passing yards with 90+ passing TDs. Along with Zach Wilson (BYU Cougars), Trey Lance (NDSU), and Justin Fields (Ohio State Buckeyes), Lawrence was regarded as a first-round prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Jaguars moved quickly to select Lawrence as the 1st overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on April 29 in Ohio, Cleveland. He is tipped to shine under the brilliant tutelage of the legendary college football coach, Urban Meyer.

Trevor Lawrence looking forward to NFL career with Jacksonville Jaguars

Speaking to Sports Illustrated after finally joining the Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence was all smiles. When questioned about his future, he replied, “Success is a hard word obviously. Winning and losing that’s kind of what you get measured by in football and sports in general.”

“So obviously, that’s one thing. But I think just successful is more so how I live my life, type of husband and dad I am one day, that’s a little bit outside of the game.”

“But I just think that that’s a successful life for me. But as far as the game goes, obviously, dream of winning the Super Bowl, that’s going to be probably my biggest goal my whole career, and then hopefully can do that a few times.”

“So you just don’t know how things are gonna work out. So obviously going to a new city, you got to figure all that out. But just excited to give all I have to a new city and start my family wherever,” Lawrence said in the interview.
