Bellator MMA Releases 15 Fighters From Its Roster
Bellator MMA is trimming up its roster. According to recent reports, as many as 15 fighters have been let go from the organization. However, details of why the fighters were let go are not clear at this point in time.
Bellator has not been able to cater to fighters who do not reside in the United States. As a result, 12 of the 15 fighters released are part of Bellator’s European series. Here’s the complete list of fighters who have been let go from the organization.

Bellator MMA parts ways with the likes of A.J. Matthews, Mandy Bohm, and more
Yannick Bahati
Weight class: Light heavyweight
MMA record: 9-5
Bellator record: 1-1
Bahati secured an impressive submission win in his UFC debut against Amir Dadovic. He then succumbed to a loss against Melvin Manhoef in his second fight with the promotion and was subsequently let go.
Mandy Bohm
Weight class: Flyweight
MMA record: 7-0
Bellator record: 1-0
In her first and only fight with Bellator, Bohm secured a unanimous decision win against Griet Eeckhout. She was set to headline a card against Liz Carmouche in May 2020. However, she is no longer a part of Bellator’s plans.
Justin Burlinson
Weight class: Welterweight
MMA record: 5-0
Bellator record: 2-0
The 23-year-old Burlinson secured an impressive first-round submission win over Maciej Gierszewski in his promotional debut. He then secured a 9-second stoppage win in his second fight with the promotion.
Claudio Conti
Weight class: Middleweight
MMA record: 7-5-2
Bellator record: 0-0
The Italian fighter was released before he was able to make his debut for the promotion. Conti has been out of action since 2018.
Ruben Crawford
Weight class: Welterweight
MMA record: 16-4
Bellator record: 0-1
Crawford’s first and only fight in Bellator was not how he would have wanted it to play out. He was knocked out in under two minutes of the very first round by Walter Gahadza.
Zach Freeman
Weight class: Lightweight
MMA record: 1-1
Bellator record: 9-3
‘The Altar Boy’ was 2-3 in his last five fights for the promotion. In his most recent outing, he was knocked out by Saad Awad in the very first round of their fight in November 2017. He has not competed since.
Will Fleury
Weight class: Middleweight
MMA record: 8-3
Bellator record: 4-2
The Irish fighter was 2-1 in his last three fights for the promotion before he was let go. His last fight was a unanimous decision win over Kent Kauppinen in September 2020.
Constantin Gnusariev
Weight class: Welterweight
MMA record: 4-0-1
Bellator record: 2-0-1
Gnusariev drew in his promotional debut. He then won his next two fights against the likes of a Coughlan and Kywan Gracie.
Malin Hermansson
Weight class: Flyweight
MMA record: 5-3
Bellator record: 0-1
Hermansson succumbed to a loss in her promotional debut in March 2019. However, she has competed multiple times since then although they have not been under Bellator.
Jade Jorand
Weight class: Atomweight
MMA record: 0-1
Bellator record: 0-1
Jorand succumbed to a loss against Monika Chochlikova via scorpion crunch submission in October 2020. The 20-year old has not competed since then.
A.J. Matthews
Weight class: Welterweight
MMA record: 9-9
Bellator record: 5-7
Matthews is a Bellator veteran having been in the promotion for close to a decade. He was 1-4 in his last five fights and most recently lost to David Rickels in March 2019.
Karl Moore
Weight class: Light heavyweight
MMA record: 9-2
Bellator record: 1-0
Moore, a former Cage Warriors champion, made a successful promotional debut with a win over Lee Chadwick via unanimous decision. That was his first and only fight with the promotion.
Pietro Penini
Weight class: Middleweight
MMA record: 9-2-1
Bellator record: 1-1
Penini secured an impressive win on his debut against Charlie Ward in November 2019. He then succumbed to a loss against Mike Shipman in September 2020.
Giorgio Pietrini
Weight class: Welterweight
MMA record: 16-5-1
Bellator record: 1-1
In his debut, Pietrini secured an impressive 20-second knockout over Nemanja Milakovic in December 2018. He then succumbed to a loss in his second fight with the promotion against Jim Wallhead in May 2019.
Bobby Voelker
Weight class: Welterweight
MMA record: 33-14
Bellator record: 0-1
Voelker’s lone Bellator appearance was unsuccessful as he was knocked out by Sabah Homasi in October 2020.
