‘Fighting Is Easy to Me’- Conor McGregor All Set for Dustin Poirier Trilogy

Conor McGregor has a lot at stake in his return against Dustin Poirier. The former two-weight world champion was stopped for the first time in his career at UFC 257. A lackluster display saw Conor McGregor finished by Dustin Poirier in the second round of their fight. 

Although McGregor started the fight well, he had no answer to Poirier’s calf kicks that found their target early and often. As the fight went on, the damage of the calf kicks started piling on and severely compromised McGregor’s ability to be elusive. As a result, he was at the receiving end of a barrage of punches from Poirier which ultimately was the end of the fight for ‘The Notorious’

Conor McGregor hypes up fans just under two months out from his UFC return

The Irish superstar took to Twitter to react to a fans ranking of his best fights ever. The tweet stated,

 “Top 5 Conor Mcgregor’s best performances

5: Conor Mcgregor vs Dennis Siver

4: Conor Mcgregor vs Dustin Poirier 1

3: Conor Mcgregor vs Donald Cerrone

2: Conor Mcgregor vs Jose Aldo 

1: Conor Mcgregor vs Eddie Alvarez” 

 

To which ‘The Notorious’ replied, “Interesting”. The former two-division world champion then followed it up with a few photos and videos hyping fans up for his return later this year. 

McGregor tweeted, “Fighting is easy to me”. And followed that up with a clip of him capturing gold at UFC 205 with the caption, “This easy.”

McGregor has a lot on his hands as he prepares for his upcoming match. ‘The Notorious’ has a lot of areas he needs to address if he wants to get the desired results. Social media posts suggest that the Irish fighter is still in Dubai where he has been since UFC 257. It does not seem as though he is joined by his coaches, John Kavanagh and Owen Roddy among others. 

Poirier, on the other hand, is currently in Florida where his team American Top Team is based out of which suggests that Poirier might have started his training camp in full swing, whereas ‘The Notorious’ might not have started it yet.
