Jennifer Aniston has urged people to raise awareness of the Covid-19 crisis in India.

As of May 4, Covid cases in India have soared by 20million as Covid-19 rips through the nation of nearly 1.4 billion.

The official average of newly confirmed cases per day has soared from over 65,000 on April 1 to about 370,000, and deaths per day have officially gone from over 300 to more than 3,000.

The Friends star wanted to shine a light on the situation and shared ways to help with her fans.

She posted on her Instagram Stories: ‘A severe second wave of coronavirus infections has swept over India, setting global records for new infections each day over the past five days.’

The actor highlighted the work of Americares, which she explained is ‘raising money for immediate relief aid for India’ and are delivering PPE to healthcare workers and ‘educating communities living in poverty on how to prevent the spread of Covid-19’.

She added: ‘You don’t have to donate to help – spread the word with whatever platform you have to help build awareness.’

Her message comes as she gets back to work on her Apple TV series The Morning Show, on which she plays TV anchor Alex Levy.

Jen stars alongside Reese Witherspoon (Bradley Jackson), with who she has a complicated relationship with in the first series after host Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) was fired for sexual misconduct.

The drama was picked up by Apple for two seasons from the start and the move paid off, as Jen has won an SAG Award for lead actress and Billy Crudup a supporting actor win for his role as Cory Ellison.
