BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were nowhere to be seen on today’s episode, leaving many viewers wondering about their whereabouts.

The presenting duo usually host the early morning programme together towards the end of the week, however on this occasion, the show was fronted by Ben Thompson and Sally Nugent.

Ben and Sally had a jam-packed installment with Little Mix and Team GB athlete Olivia Breen joining for interviews.

However, fans just had one question on their lips on social media: Where on earth were Naga and Charlie and when will they be returning to BBC Breakfast?

Where is Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt on BBC Breakfast and when will they be back on?

BBC Breakfast’s Charlie and Naga are fan-favourite presenters on the programme, however, they are currently absent from the show.

The corporation confirmed to Metro.co.uk that the pair are currently on a break from the series. It’s not yet been announced when they’ll be returning.

Naga and Charlie were recently missing from BBC Breakfast over the weekend as well.

On Sunday, the show was fronted by Roger Johnson and Sima Kotecha.

Besides BBC Breakfast, Naga also hosts her own programme on BBC Radio 5 Live which airs Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am.

Her show features news, experiences, and big name interviews from around the UK.

Naga and Charlie last appeared on BBC Breakfast on Friday, April 30 where they were joined by Line Of Duty’s Craig Parkinson ahead of the acclaimed drama’s series six finale.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
