Lady Gaga ‘very relieved’ after five people arrested over dog theft
Lady Gaga is reported to be ‘very relieved’ following the arrest of five people, after her dog walker was attacked, and her two dogs were stolen.
The Los Angeles Police Department recently said it had arrested five people in connection with the attack, which left Ryan Fischer fighting for his life, and the theft of the singer’s dogs Koji and Gustav.
A source said the Rain On Me hitmaker is feeling ‘very relieved’ following the ordeal.
‘It was a nightmare for her,’ they added to PEOPLE.
James Howard Jackson, Jaylin Keyshawn White and Lafayette Shon Whaley all face charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and second-degree robbery.
Jackson also faces one count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and a felon carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
White faces one count of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury.
Two others, Harold White and Jennifer McBride, have been charged with one count each of accessory after the fact, and McBride faces one count of receiving stolen property.
Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon said it was a ‘brazen street crime.’
He added: ‘We have alleged very serious charges in this case and have faith that justice will be appropriately served as this case unfolds in court.
Fischer, who had to have surgery on a collapsed lung after being shot in the chest, has since left hospital.
Shortly after the attack, Lady Gaga issued a statement, writing on Twitter: ‘I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You’re forever a hero.’
It was previously said that Lady Gaga felt ‘indebted’ to Fischer for risking his life and offered to pay his £70,000 medical bills.
Following the theft, Gaga’s dogs were returned to her.
