Weather Forecast for the NASCAR Darlington Throwback Weekend Races
This weekend, NASCAR Cup Series heads to Darlington for the much anticipated NASCAR Throwback Weekend. Last weekend, Kyle Busch triumphed after a long streak of bad races, making him the 10th different winner this year. However, Darlington is a whole new story and the Goodyear 400 should be an intriguing watch.
Once again, teams are keeping an eye on the weather forecast as the prospect of rain might affect the race. Reports suggest that the weather will likely remain dry. On Saturday, the weather will be mostly sunny with temperatures ranging between 57°F and 79°F.
The temperature may increase for Sunday’s Cup Series race, ranging between 66°F and 86°F and may give the runners some sweat. However, the best part is that showers are only expected after the race weekend is over.
What to expect at the NASCAR Throwback Weekend at Darlington?
The Goodyear 400 returned to the NASCAR calendar after a gap of 15 years. In the 2020 season, the Darlington Raceway hosted a double-header, which Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick won. In light of this, they could be the favorites to win, but stranger things have happened.
However, the two of them may have quite a challenge fighting their way up the grid. As per reports, Brad Keselowski will start on pole position for the second race in a row. Admittedly, many have tried their hardest to triumph at the track. However, there is a reason why the Darlington Raceway is known as ‘Too Tough to Tame’.
According to several NASCAR drivers, there is very little room for any mistakes. If a driver did put a wheel wrong, the track punishes them in the harshest manner possible. Even if drivers do not have to worry about the assault from their fellow rivals, the track’s nature does not allow them to rest one bit. This is because the smallest mistake can pitch the car into the wall at a moment’s notice.
