Body of Guatemalan woman, 22, dumped on Texas road by heartless human smugglers after hellish ordeal

SMUGGLERS dumped the dead body of a 22-year-old Guatemalan woman after a hellish ordeal attempting to cross the Mexico-US border.

Marta Ana Raymundo was found on the side of a Texas road this week after she left her Guatemala home in the hopes of reuniting with her family in Atlanta, Georgia.

She crossed the border last Friday in the middle of the night, sources told Univision, but reportedly fell ill at a warehouse where she and other migrants hid after crossing the border.

Her father, Francisco Raymundo, said his daughter was asked by smugglers to wear camouflaged clothing to avoid being detected.

He last spoke to her at about 3AM on Saturday, recalling his daughter tell him “Dad, I am already coming” before warning him she would not be able to call him because smugglers demanded she discard her cell.

Simultaneously, one of the smugglers was able to contact her brother in Guatemala to let him know Marta safely crossed the border.

However, when Marta was brought to the warehouse until she and the migrants could leave, she fainted.

“I thought it was due to fatigue,” Francisco said, after having received a call from his son in Guatemala about Marta’s medical episode. “I didn’t think she was going to die.”

Francisco spoke to one of the smugglers a few days later and received a text with directions to where Marta’s body was abandoned.

Although the distraught father didn’t mention if he traveled to Texas to recover his daughter’s body, he suspects criminal action, likely asphyxiation he said.
