Michael B Jordan has barely set a foot wrong in Hollywood so far but he admits his Star Wars audition was pretty disastrous.

It’ll be news to fans that the Black Panther actor auditioned for a side role in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which launched the most recent trilogy and went on to cast the likes of Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.

Unfortunately for Michael, his attempt at landing a spot in JJ Abrams’ acclaimed Episode VII didn’t go as planned.

Speaking on the Just For Variety podcast, Michael shared: ‘I couldn’t wrap my brain around some of the sides because you know when you’re reading for these high-level projects, there’s never really any specificity in the sides.

‘Everything’s like super vague; everything is in secret. Reading through, I just couldn’t connect it. I definitely bombed that one for sure.’

His embarrassment didn’t stop there as Michael, 34, admits he then ‘ran out of there’, recalling: ‘It was like “alright guys, see you later, I’m out of here”.’

The actor hasn’t been able to live it down and revealed: ‘I don’t think I’ve seen J.J since then…I’ve obviously seen the project, everything’s going great, so it was clearly the right decision.

‘You kind of understand why it’s that way, but as an actor sometimes, it’s tough when they can’t give you a lot.’

Michael may have lost a spot in the Star Wars franchise but he may still have a chance to go for Superman.

The Wire actor has long been rumoured to replace Henry Cavill in the next Superman instalment but he’s playing it coy for now, brushing off the speculation.

Reacting to the chatter, Michael told Jake’s Takes: ‘I appreciate people that think about me in that type of way for these roles. I don’t really have anything more to kind of give on that, other than it’s just flattering and I appreciate it.

‘Whoever they get, or if it goes that way, I think it’ll be an interesting thing to see.’

Michael’s currently starring in tense action thriller Without Remorse, which debuted on Amazon Prime Video last week.
