“Our Staged Stuff Is Entertaining” – WWE Legend Trolls Floyd Mayweather After His Brawl With Jake Paul

Several fans and critics who focus on combat sport have often passed a comment or two about WWE staging its feuds and matches. While that may be true, there’s a reason fans continue to tune in to watch those matches. Recently, John Layfied put the people in place when this topic came up.

It so happened that Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather had a showdown which resulted with Jake Paul suffering swelling and bruises around his eye. However, some have claimed that the showdown looked staged, similar to what WWE produces.

However, John Layfield brought up a Monday Night Raw episode from 1998 where Mike Tyson and Stone Cold Steve Austin came face to face. As expected, the meeting did not end well.

Let’s remember that it was The Attitude Era and The Texas Rattlesnake did not hold back. He made an inappropriate gesture to Tyson, who in return shoved Stone Cold. While this may not be a lot, the brief moment was captivating enough to get the audience to engage in the overall storyline.

John Layfied’s point was exactly that. Even if WWE is staging it all, there is no lack in the level of entertainment and audience engagement.

In an interview, The Undertaker had revealed that he had to constantly be aware of MMA fans who would diss wrestling as a sport. In fact, anytime anyone would compare MMA to wrestling, MMA fans would immediately call out wrestlers as being fake.

However, he never bothered about them because being a wrestler requires immense skill. All the moves executed inside the ring need practice. Otherwise, one wrong move and it could lead to devastating and career-ending injuries.

Recently, rapper Soulja Boy got into an altercation with Superstar Randy Orton for calling wrestling fake. It enraged Orton gravely and he was ready to take on Orton. Even though Soulja Boy clarified exactly what he was calling fake, ‘The Viper’ had already thrashed the rapper on social media.
