‘The Showstopper’- Conor McGregor Teases Teammate’s Fight at Bellator MMA

Conor McGregor recently took to Twitter to show his support to teammate Peter Queally. Queally fights Patricky Freire at Bellator 258. McGregor’s teammate from SBG Ireland, ‘The Showstopper’ successfully made weight for his lightweight contest against the elder Pitbull brother and it seems like The Notorious one is rather anxious to seem them butt heads.

“A true pro, The Showstopper! Let’s go @peterqueally!” wrote McGregor. Queally was originally scheduled to fight Patricky back in October 2020.

There was some genuine bad blood between the fighters ahead of their original contest; however, Queally believes that heat has cooled down as the fight has been rescheduled. Patricky, on the other hand, believes otherwise.

The beef between the Pitbull Gym and the SBG Ireland started last year after Patricky’s brother, 2-weight Bellator champion, Patricio, knocked out one of the fighters from McGregor’s gym.

Patricky currently sits at #2 in the Bellator’s lightweight rankings. He believes that a win over Queally should set him up for a fight against the No. 1 ranked Brent Primus next.

Queally, on the other hand, will look to move to the upper echelon of the Bellator’s lightweight division with a win over a seasoned fighter like Patricky.

Queally knocked out Ryan Scope in 2019 at Bellator 227 in what was his last outing. A scrap against Patricky will bring his overtly long hiatus to an end. The Brazilian last won a split decision against Scope before having a run with RIZIN.

The 32-year-old Irish fighter, Queally, has a professional record of 12-5. He has never been finished in his career. ‘The Showstopper’ is finally making a name for himself in the big leagues.

Patricky is undoubtedly the biggest name he has faced in his career. Therefore, he will be determined to use this opportunity to catapult himself alongside the bigwigs of the promotion.

Patricky, on the other hand, will be looking to kick off a successful return to the promotion after his run with Rizin. He will look to make a statement and put the rivalry between the gyms to bed with a win against his Irish contemporary.
