Elton John proved to be a lucky charm as he cheered football team Watford to victory against Swansea.

The I’m Still Standing singer treated sons Zachary and Elijah – who he shares with husband David Furnish – to a family day out at Vicarage Road for the final game of the Championship season.

It was a successful afternoon as their beloved club won 2-0, securing their promotion into the Premier League next season – with Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s fiancé Andre Gray scoring the first goal.

The trio were seen celebrating the win in the stands, with the music icon spotted yelling animatedly as his children clapped the result.

As well as sitting cosy in the crowd, the family headed into the team’s dressing room to congratulate them in person.

Elton commemorated the memorable day with a string of photos, showing them rubbing shoulders with the players.

‘Big day out for the F-J Family as we attended today’s game at @watfordfcofficial,’ he penned.

‘It was an honour to hand out Player of the Year Award to the great Ismaila Sarr.

‘Runners up were Kiko Femenia and Francisco Sierralta.’

Alongside a string of rocket emoji, he added: ‘Congratulations to the entire team on your big return to the Premier League!’

Elton has been a life-long Watford club, having grown up in nearby Pinner.

He previously became chairman at the now-Premier League club in 1976, before stepping down in 2002.

He was later made honorary life president in 2014 for his commitment to the club, and even has a stand at the club’s Vicarage Road stadium named in his honour.

Not too shabby…
