Giuliana Rancic stepping down from E!’s red carpet coverage after 20 years
Giuliana Rancic has announced she is leaving E!’s red carpet coverage after 20 years, revealing the next career move that she has planned.
Giuliana, 46, first joined E! News in 2002 as a reporter, going on to become an anchor for the channel three years later.
The entertainment reporter is known for her celebrity interviews and coverage on the red carpet at star-studded award shows, including the Oscars and the Golden Globes.
In a statement shared on Instagram, she informed her 2.6million followers that it’s time to move on to pastures new.
‘After 20 fabulous years hosting E!’s red carpet, I have decided to step out of my red carpet heels into a new pair of shoes,’ she said.
‘One of my passions is great storytelling and I am thrilled to announce a new development deal with E!’s parent company NBCUniversal where I will be producing and bringing stories to life.’
Giuliana thanked her ‘E! family’ for ‘allowing me to make my red carpet dreams come true’ over the past two decades, saying: ‘It has truly been a highlight of my career and life.’
She also described her production team as ‘simply the best’, recalling the ‘beautiful memories’ they’ve shared together over the years.
‘And to all the viewers, all around the world, thank you for watching and supporting me as we went along together on this red carpet ride,’ she concluded.
‘I love and appreciate you all and I sure hope you will join me as I enter this exciting new chapter.’
Several people sent Giuliana supportive messages over her new venture, including Queer Eye star Karamo Brown who commented: ‘You are a legend! I’m so blessed to have learned from you and worked with you.’
‘We will miss you on the red carpet but will follow you on your new adventure!’ one fan wrote.
‘The end of an era. You are a legend. Thanks for bringing the fun to the red carpet for so many years,’ another said.
In July 2015, Giuliana announced that she would be walking away from her post as a co-anchor on E! News after almost 10 years.
However, she returned to the role in September 2018, having continued hosting Fashion Police in the meantime.
