Joseph Gordon-Levitt managed to sneak his voice into 2019 murder mystery Knives Out.

The flick boasts a star-studded cast, including Ana de Armas, Chris Evans and Daniel Craig – but it turns out there was another A-lister we didn’t pick up on.

Joseph, 40, can be heard voicing the part of Detective Hardrock on a television show that Marta (Ana) is watching at the start of the film.

He told Us Weekly: ‘Funnily enough, and folks may or may not know this, I’ve actually gotten to cameo in every single one of Rian Johnson’s films, from Brick to The Brothers Bloom and even Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

‘It’s a tradition that I hope we get to keep up!’

While not everyone may be aware the voice is Joseph’s, it’s not a total secret as director Rian has spoken about it previously.

He told Cinema Blend in 2019: ‘I will work with him any time he’s available. I can’t wait to get on set with him again.

‘You know, he does have a cameo in this. He’s a voice in the beginning. Keep your ears open. You’ll hear a JGL cameo.’

The film, which follows private detective Benoit Blanc’s (Daniel Craig) investigation into a wealthy, eccentric family after its patriarch is killed, also stars Daniel, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Lakeith Stanfield and the late Christopher Plummer.

In April it emerged Netflix had stumped up more than $400million (£290million) for two follow-ups, the most expensive deal ever for a streaming service.

Knives Out director and writer Rian landed an Oscar nomination for best screenplay.

James Bond star Daniel was also praised for his portrayal of the debonair Southern gentleman Benoit, and the British actor will reprise his role in the sequels.

The upcoming instalments are not expected to star Chris Evans or the rest of the cast, as Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer previously confirmed Knives Out 2 and 3 are unlikely to be direct follow-ons from the first film.
