Tyson Fury Links Up With Boxing Legend Roy Jones Jr. Ahead of Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders

Tyson Fury is one of the greatest heavyweights of our generation. ‘The Gypsy King’ is a 2-time Heavyweight Champion and won the title against all odds on both occasions. And now as a superstar in the sport, Fury has linked up with legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr.

The undefeated heavyweight is currently in training camp in America for the Anthony Joshua fight. However, he traveled to Dallas, Texas to support his compatriot Billy Joe Saunders ahead of his fight against Canelo Alvarez.

As a result, he ran into Roy Jones Jr. and they shared a light moment.

The 30-0-1 boxer came down the stairs behind Jones as he spoke to FightHub. Jones turned and said, “The Gypsy King! What’s up, Gypsy King?” Fury then replied, “Roy Jones Jr. how are you, sir? You alright?”

Jones Jr. then shared an instance of them before Fury had won the world title. He said, “Hey, this guy, I tell y’all. I told him 5 years ago, ‘Get yourself back in shape, you’ll whoop all of ‘em.’ Did I not tell you that?”

Can Tyson Fury fulfill Roy Jones Jr.’s prediction?

The heavyweight division is one of the most exciting divisions in the sport. While there are several fighters that could be champions, there are also many challengers capable of dethroning the champions. So can Fury live up to Jones Jr.’s words?

So far, Fury has already beaten Deontay Wilder and got one name off the list. Moreover, he is on course to face Anthony Joshua next. Victory over ‘AJ’ would mean Fury will have beaten two of the big guns since the prediction.

However, there are several others who could cause problems to ‘The Gypsy King.’ Therefore, only time will if Fury faces them or whether he targets bigger fish after the Joshua fight. One thing is for sure he will have no shortage of options after the Joshua fight.

What do you make of these comments from Roy Jones Jr.? Do you think Tyson Fury can live up to these comments?
