John Cena Teases his WWE Return on Social Media
Social media is a place where wrestlers can shed their kayfabe covers and be normal human beings. For John Cena, Instagram is a place to have fun and post cryptic stuff. Most recently, Cena might’ve sent the entire WWE Universe into a tizzy with his last post.
Is John Cena teasing WWE return?
The last time John Cena stepped in a WWE ring was at WrestleMania 36, when he faced Bray Wyatt in the Firefly Funhouse match. Wyatt’s definitive win over one of his biggest rivals marked the end of Cena’s brief return to the company. However, he might return quicker than we think.
The sixteen-time champion shut down rumours of a WrestleMania return, claiming his schedule bars him from wrestling. He’s quickly becoming one of the biggest movie stars in the world, and his role in the latest Fast and the Furious movie will surely turn heads.
On his Instagram, Cena posted a photo of the WWE logo. Cena’s Instagram is full of random images with no captions, and his bio reads, “Welcome to my Instagram. These images will be posted without explanation, for your interpretation. Enjoy.” If not a potential WWE return, what else could this post mean?
With WWE wanting to get back on the road with live events this summer, Cena could be an integral part of that run. Seeing Cena compete in the first live event since the pandemic struck would be a once in a lifetime experience. The company also plans on having a 100% capacity audience at SummerSlam. If they want to draw big numbers, they should put Cena on the card.
WWE planning to have full capacity shows
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is planning to kick off the ‘return to touring’ with SummerSlam. The summer wrestling extravaganza will be the first WWE PPV to have a full capacity audience. Apparently, UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Florida inspired WWE to get crowds back in huge numbers. The card featuring Usman vs Masvidal was the first card to feature a full-house.
Vegas, Boston, NY, or LA would be perfect and realistic locations for SS.

Three to four locations are on the table, the frontrunner being Boston. The city of Boston was the venue for SummerSlam 2020, but missed out on a great PPV because of the pandemic. Just like WWE repaid the Raymond James Stadium and fans in Tampa Bay by having WrestleMania 37, WWE might go the same way and give the people of Boston the PPV they missed.
With Roman Reigns in superb form, Bobby Lashley killing it as WWE Champion and now Cena teasing his return, we could be in for the best PPV of all time.
