Lady Gaga shed a tear as she left Italy on Sunday after filming of her upcoming movie House of Gucci wrapped.

The singer, 35, threw flowers to her fans as she left the Boscolo hotel in Rome after a month-and-a-half of work on the biopic.

The pop star, real name Stefani Germanotta, had 60 suitcases and a long keyboard loaded onto a truck.

Her bodyguard helped to pack soft toys into the van while a group of fans looked on despite pandemic restrictions.

The actress threw flowers to her devotees to thank them for their affection and she appeared tearful as she said goodbye.

Gaga shared a picture of herself fist bumping House of Gucci director Ridley Scott after the movie finished filming this week.

She posted a snap of her arms reaching out to Ridley on the set of the upcoming film.

She captioned the image: ‘That’s a wrap. Rid. #HouseOfGucci.’

The film will follow Patrizia Regianni, who was convicted of plotting the 1995 murder of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, and served 18 years in prison before being released in 2016.

It will star Gaga and Adam Driver as Patrizia and Maurizio, but it has already angered family members of the late designer while it was still being made.

The family of the late Maurizio Gucci have hit out at the ‘horrible’ casting of the upcoming movie about his murder, claiming it is ‘stealing the identity of a family to make a profit’.

Maurizio’s second cousin, Patrizia Gucci, has shared their disappointment at the film so far, telling the Associated Press: ‘They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system.

‘Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything, but there is a borderline that cannot be crossed.’

Patrizia also revealed that the family were not keen on the casting or makeovers the stars had, including Al Pacino as her grandfather Aldo Gucci and Jared Leto as her father, Paolo Gucci.

She said: ‘My grandfather was a very handsome man, like all the Guccis, and very tall, blue eyes and very elegant.

‘He is being played by Al Pacino, who is not very tall already, and this photo shows him as fat, short, with sideburns, really ugly. Shameful, because he doesn’t resemble him at all.’

Of Jared’s portrayal of her father, she called it: ‘Horrible, horrible. I still feel offended.’

The film, which is due for release in October, is based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed by Sara Gay Forden.
