Mario Falcone had an eventful evening after rushing his young son to hospital when a piece of sweetcorn became lodged in his nose – only for it to have all been for nothing in the end.
The former Towie star documented the frenzy via his Instagram, explaining how his son Parker, two, got the sweetcorn stuck in his nose while eating dinner.
‘We’ve had a very eventful evening,’ Mario told his followers while leaving A&E with his fiancee Becky Miesner.
‘Parker, at dinner time, got a little bit of sweetcorn stuck in his nose – so we tried everything but it didn’t do anything.’
However, the night took an unexpected turn as Mario then revealed: ‘So we took him to A&E and waited four hours to see someone, and two minutes before we could see the ear, nose and throat specialist, he coughed and sneezed it out himself.
‘Parker thought he needed an ambulance when we were at home, he was asking for an ambulance, but yes, [it’s] quarter-past-eleven on Saturday night.’
Turning to Becky, Mario then quipped: ‘Have kids, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. She wants another one, she says.’
Fortunately, little Parker was in great spirits despite the scare and was seen posing with the sweetcorn in his hand with a huge smile on his face in a sweet Instagram photo shared by Mario.
The father-of-one wrote in the caption: ‘So after four hours in A&E waiting to have a little piece of sweet corn removed from his nose he ended up coughing and sneezing it out himself!’
The following day, Mario, 33, revealed the aftermath of the hospital drama and unfortunately for him and Becky, they weren’t able to get much rest.
‘So after last night’s sweetcorn escapades, you would have thought Parker would have liked a lie-in this morning being that he went to bed at half 11 but no, to rub salt in the wounds, he got up at 10 past six this morning, so we’re a very tired household,’ he revealed.
‘I did the honourable dad thing which is head to Starbucks to get us breakfast and Becky and I a very, very strong coffee but today’s going to be a struggle.’
‘No more sweetcorn, ever,’ he jokingly added.
Mario and Becky began dating in 2016 and got engaged the following year after he popped the question in Santorini. They welcomed Parker, their first child together, in 2018.
