Oscar De La Hoya Claims ‘F**K Nut’ Dana White Cost Georges St-Pierre a Mega Payday Against Him

It is no secret that Dana White is not a fan of exhibition boxing matches. White stated clearly that there is a market for exhibition fights but it is not something that he does. And also that he does not intend on letting any fighters under contract with him take part in such fights.

Exhibition matches in boxing are the rage these days. Celebrities, YouTubers, former boxing champions are all making a comeback to the ring in order to entertain the masses. Most recently, one of the biggest events put on was the fight between Jake Paul and former UFC fighter Ben Askren.

Will Dana White agree to Oscar De La Hoya vs Georges St-Pierre?

Dana White prides himself on putting on the best fights in the UFC. The UFC supremo believes that the factor that separates the UFC from boxing or any other promotion is that the best fight the best in the UFC. The same can not be said for boxing as a sport. In boxing, a lot of parties have to agree before a fight takes place. Which sometimes robs fans of potential super fights.

It appears as though White’s stance on the subject has cost ‘GSP’ a mega payday as shared by Marcos Villegas on Twitter. He said, “This F*ck nut Dana White) kept Georges St-Pierre from making the biggest payday with me”. Oscar De La Hoya says that Dana White axed a potential fight with him and GSP.”

Former six-weight world champion Oscar De La Hoya recently announced that he would be coming back to fight once again. There have been a lot of names in the mix for his next opponent including former UFC champion, Eddie Alvarez. However, at this point in time, the opponent has not been confirmed.

Georges St-Pierre was predominantly known as a wrestler during his time with the UFC despite being a black belt in Karate. However, towards the end of his career, he began working with Freddie Roach and improved significantly on his striking. ‘GSP’ has always maintained that he is retired and does not intend on coming back to fight. However, a big payday and a chance to fight one of the best boxers ever in Oscar De La Hoya is something that might entice him.
