WATCH: Serena Williams’ ‘Gelato’ Outing With Daughter Olympia and Alexis Ohanian Ahead of Italian Open 2021
American superstar Serena Williams has put women’s tennis on the world map. She has entertained people from all over the world with spectacular quality, time and again. At 39 years, the hunger in her yet remains high, and she continues to compete for the biggest honors in the game.
At the moment, Serena Williams is in Rome, Italy, competing in the WTA Italian Open. She has been accompanied by her daughter Olympia and husband Alexis Ohanian. During the day, the family decided to go for an outing and get treat themselves to gelatos.

In the clip, Serena shows off her gelato to the camera and then shows Olympia and Alexis Ohanian, who are seen enjoying their Gelatos too. She asked them if they like it and they both responded positively, and eventually termed themselves, “Team Gelato”.

Moving on to tennis, Williams began her season in Australia. She attended the exhibition event in Adelaide, ‘A Day at the Drive’. Following that, she competed in the Yarra Valley Classic but withdrew before her semifinal match due to a shoulder niggle.
Later, she featured at the Australian Open in the quest to lift her 24th Grand Slam title. Unfortunately, her journey came to an end in the semifinal at the hands of the eventual champion, Naomi Osaka. She has been stuck on number 23 since she won the Australian Open back in 2017.
Since then, she has not played in any event. She was supposed to compete in the Miami Open but had to pull out of it in the final moments due to oral surgery.
After a considerable time away from Tour, she is competing at the WTA Italian Open in Rome. She is going to compete at the French Open, so to play on the clay courts in Rome will be ideal for her preparations.
