Ben Affleck shares super-cute tribute to ex-wife Jennifer Garner: ‘So happy to share these kids with you’
Ben Affleck has gushed over his joy at having children with ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
The Batman star took to Instagram to share a very public tribute to Jennifer for Mother’s Day in the US.
Ben and Jen separated in 2015 after over a decade of marriage but have remained on good terms while they co-parent their children Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, nine.
Ben posted a carousel of images of Jennifer with the kids, as well as a sweet photo of them as a family dressed up in costumes from The Wizard of Oz.
He wrote: ‘So happy to share these kids with you. Luckiest parents in the world. Thanks for all the good you do.
‘Happy Mother’s Day. Love, their Dad.’
Meanwhile, Jennifer wrote her own reflective Instagram post to mark the day, acknowledging that she was ‘in the sweet spot’ with her children, mother, family and friends all being ‘healthy, funny, sweet’.
She continued: ‘Please God, let me see past the dishes, the end of school year crush, the pressure for today to mean more than any other, and help me glory in every single banal (wonderful) moment like the one that started me awake today.
‘More of the same, over and over, please. And thank you.’
The Alias actor also took the time to recognise the day as difficult for some of her followers and fans, writing: ‘I wish I could wrap my arms around everyone for whom today is something to bear.
‘I hope the world is mothering you as you need to be cared for today.’
Jennifer previously admitted having her ‘children’s eyes on her’ was the hardest part of her divorce from Ben.
As well as stating that going through a divorce is hard, regardless of it being in public, she recollected that she ‘never had a day without paparazzi’, despite living on a street that was ‘chock-a-block full of actors, much more successful and famous and decorated than me, including Ben’.
She recollected: ‘They’d all go by one by one, no problem, and then I’d go do a school run and it’d be 15 cars going with me.
‘I never had a day without paparazzi, and if I did, if I made it to a park by hiding in the bottom of the pool man’s truck or something, then a nanny would see me there and call a number and they’d swarm.’
Jennifer has also urged her children to ‘talk’ to either of their parents if they ever see something ‘shocking’ written about them online.
She explained how they would process any reporting of them online together as a family.
‘My request to them was always, “Let Dad and I talk you through whatever it is.”
‘I’d tell them, “If you see an image on the front of a magazine, I’ll look at it with you and we’ll process all the scary feelings that come up together.”’
