New Call the Midwife star Megan Cusack brandished an explicit placard at a Kill the Bill rally outside Parliament.

The actress, 24, made her debut on the BBC One show last week as a pupil joining the nuns at Nonnatus House.

However, the youngest member of the Cusack acting dynasty looked very different from her on-screen character as she joined protesters on March 15.

Along with others, Megan was taking a stand against Home Secretary Priti Patel for giving police more powers to prevent or quickly shut down demonstrations.

Megan was pictured with a sign which read: ‘F**k the racist, sexist police,’ along with an image of a pig.

She was also seen with a sign that said: ‘Sounds Priti f**ked to me. We will not be silenced.’

Megan also shared photos on her Twitter and Facebook pages in which she could be seen wearing a mask with ‘f**k this!’ emblazoned across it.

She also joined her fellow protesters by holding a large ‘Kill the Bill’ banner.

Expressing her disdain for the Home Secretary, she tweeted recently: ‘Wow I really woke up and the first thing on my mind was how much I despise Priti Patel.’

Megan comes a family of people who have achieved success in the performing arts.

Her grandfather is famous Irish actor Cyril Cusack while her father is theatre producer Padraig Cusack.

The television star’s aunts are acting sisters Sinead, Niamh, Sorcha and Catherine Cusack.

Her uncle is Sinead’s husband Jeremy Irons and her cousin is actor Max Irons.
