American rapper Flo Rida has left Eurovision fans on the edge of their seats amid speculation he could perform at the highly anticipated annual Song Contest in Rotterdam.
The 41-year-old music legend features on the single Adrenalina by Italian singer Senhit, this year’s entry for San Marino.
And the rumour mill officially went into overdrive as Senhit was spotted rehearsing on stage with a man who appeared to be a stand-in for the Whistle hitmaker.
Excited Eurovision fans lit up social media as they anticipated the star power of Flo Rida, real name Tramar Lacel Dillard, who recently said it would be an ‘honour’ to perform with Senhit.
One fan wrote: ‘Flo Rida is definitely coming. His name was on the LED screen and there appears to be a big reveal with the doors opening. #Eurovision.’
‘It’s still hilarious that Flo Rida is doing Eurovision this year. For San Marino,’ another wrote.
A third tweeted: ‘Idk why i was surprised about flo rida being on a eurovision song when celine dion is a past winner for switzerland…..this aint even the first time ppl brought in big guns.’
Others were a bit dubious, with one person tweeting: ‘The question we’ve all been waiting for, will Flo Rida be at Eurovision? “We will discover together! Be patient and have faith!” #Eurovision.’
Someone else tweeted: ‘I can’t believe I’m waiting for a Eurovision rehearsal wondering will Flo Rida turn up for San Marino.’
However, others were quick to put a damper on hopes that Flo Rida would be performing.
A Eurovision fan tweeted a poster of a Miami bikini modelling competition that featured the rapper and a bikini-clad woman.
‘Cannot believe I have to say this, but Flo Rida isn’t coming to Eurovision and is instead judging the international bikini model search,’ they noted.
Another person added: ‘Honestly, the fact that there appears to be zero evidence of Flo Rida preparing for Eurovision – or even doing anything apart from one interview about it – to me suggests that there’s little to no chance he’ll show up.’
If rumours are true and Flo Rida will perform at this year’s Eurovision, it will significantly help San Marino’s chances of making a dent on the scoreboard.
San Marino is known for trying very hard at Eurovision but not really getting anywhere, only ever qualifying for the final twice and then peaking at the 19th.
Flo Rida has yet to comment on whether he will be attending Eurovision.
Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Flo Rida for comment.
The Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals take place on May 18 and 20, before the final on May 22.
