Jermaine Jenas and his wife Ellie Penfold are expecting another baby together.

The football pundit, 38, revealed the news during The One Show on Monday as he hosted the programme with Alex Jones.

Opening the episode, Christine, who announced she and husband Charlie Thomson were pregnant earlier this year, asked him if they could talk about his happy news.

He replied: ‘Obviously you gave us the baby news and I wanted to tell you at that particular point but, yes, I’ve got a baby on the way.

‘I’m, like, taking credit for having the baby already, aren’t I? But, no, I’ve got three girls and it’s a boy that’s on his way as well,’ he excitedly added.

‘The four-year-old’s not took it too well though, I’ll be honest with you.’

Alex joked: ‘Neither has ours. He said, “Mama, we’ve already got a baby, send it back”.’

Jermaine and wife Ellie have two girls Geneva and Olivia, and he has a 10-year-old daughter Sancha from a previous relationship.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England player Jermaine was confirmed as an official One Show presenter last month.

Ronan Keating was also announced as a One Show host in addition to Jermaine (Picture: Ken McKay/ITV/REX)

He will join the BBC team along with former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating.

Both Jermaine and Ronan have been stand-in hosts after Matt Baker left a year ago.

Sportsman Jermaine will appear alongside Alex from Monday to Wednesday each week while ex boyband star Ronan will sit on the sofa on Thursdays and Fridays.

Last month, Alex revealed she was expecting her third baby with her husband Charlie.

The couple, who married in 2015, are already parents to sons Teddy and Kit.

Although Jermaine and Ronan have joined the programme, BBC bosses have said ‘no decision has been made on the cover for [Alex’s] maternity leave’.

On Jermaine and Ronan joining, The One Show editor Rob Unsworth said: ‘We’re thrilled to have Ronan and Jermaine join us as the regular One Show hosts alongside Alex on the sofa.

‘It’s an exciting new chapter for the show, and we’re looking forward to viewers vetting to know a different side to such well-known faces.’
