NFL Analyst Believes There’s Still Time for Lamar Jackson To Improve His Passing Game

Few players in the NFL divide opinion as sharply as Lamar Jackson. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback has been at the centre of attention ever since his college days due to his style of play.

Unlike an orthodox quarterback, Jackson is mobile and ready to make a run whenever needed. A model dual-threat quarterback, Lamar Jackson won the NFL MVP Award back in 2019.

But even that has not been enough to silence his critics. Many still berate the quarterback for his passing game. While Lamar has gotten better at throwing the ball since his heydays in the NFL, his passing ability remains a cause for concern.

But one NFL analyst feels that in due time Lamar Jackson will pick up his passing game.

Lamar Jackson backed to evolve his game further

During a segment of KJZ, former NFL player turned analyst Keyshawn Johnson backed the former MVP winner to eventually pick up his passing game.

“Do I think he’s going to develop eventually into a passing quarterback that everybody seems to want in the National Football League along with his running skills? Yes, I do,” said Johnson.

Johnson said that with individuals blasting the QB for his passing game, an improvement is likely to be seen soon.

“I just want to be clear. Everybody wants him to do that. So I think he will. I don’t feel that way that he has to to be successful.”

Johnson even stated the reasons he believes this will be the case. And a lot of it has to do with the franchise’ new and potential acquisitions.

“I feel like they’ve got some pieces in place. They’re going to still try to make a run at Julio Jones from what my people tell me,” said Johnson.

The analyst here is likely referencing to the Ravens’ new acquisitions at wide receiver involving the likes of veteran Sammy Watkins and rookie Rashod Bateman in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Johnson also refers to a possible trade for Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones. The wideout is one of the best wideouts in the league and could be traded by the franchise this summer.

Thus having an arsenal of new offensive weapons at his disposal could well help address Jackson’s passing woes.
