Orange Is The New Black star Samira Wiley and her wife Lauren Morelli have welcomed their first daughter.

The actress, who played Poussey Washington in the Netflix comedy-drama series, announced the couple has named their firstborn George Elizabeth and that she arrived last month.

Samira revealed her wife had given birth in a heartwarming post on Instagram alongside a photo of their bundle of joy gripping onto both of their hands.

‘Happy 1st Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, who four weeks ago today after laboring for almost 3 days gave birth to our first child—our gorgeous daughter, George.💜,’ she penned.

‘Welcome to the world, babygirl. We love you and we thank you for giving us the best 1st Mother’s Day two ladies could ask for. George Elizabeth 4.11.2021 💜.’

Lauren shared the same image on her profile.

‘4 weeks ago today, our daughter came into the world and changed everything,’ she penned.

‘We are so happy, so grateful, and so tired. George Elizabeth, 4.11.21 ❤️.’

The pair were flooded with messages congratulating them, with Orange Is The New Black star Madeline Brewer writing: ‘oh my god oh my god oh my god she’s here.’ (sic)

Jackie Cruz added: ‘I’m so happy for you guys.’

Samira and Lauren tied the knot back in 2017 in a Palm Springs ceremony with Samira’s parents

The couple walked down the aisle to This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan.

The pair got engaged in October 2016 after Morelli proposed to the actress in Palm Springs.

They met on the set of the Netflix series after Lauren joined in 2014 as a lead writer.

Orange Is The New Black is available to stream on Netflix.
