Serena Williams Reveals How Her Tennis Success Helps Her Inspire Other Mothers

Having a professional career as an athlete and being a mom are two of the most laborious jobs in the world. But some women do both of them together exceptionally well. One of these superwomen is 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams.

On Mother’s Day, the tennis queen took part in ESPN SportsCenter’s featured episode called ‘To Be a Mom.’ In the video, she reveals how her success has helped her inspire other moms.

Serena Williams’ inspiring message for women who are mothers

Serena Williams became a mom to Alexis Olympia Jr. in 2017. Although it must have been the most heartwarming moment of her life, Serena faced life-threatening challenges post-delivery.

Considering this, her return to the tennis world became doubtful. However, she came back the very next year and has played four Grand Slam finals since.

At 39, she is still passionately pursuing her next Grand Slam title. Along with that, she and her daughter Olympia have become one of the most adorable mother-daughter pairs of the sports world.

Serena has defied the impossible, both as an athlete and as a mother. Thus, she is grateful to spread the positive word to other moms out there.

“It’s amazing to be in this position where I have the opportunity to say to women that are moms – you can do it,” Serena said.

Currently, the four-time Olympic Gold medallist is in France with Olympia and husband Alexis Ohanian. The mother-daughter recently shared pictures of them twinning in Nike swimwear with their exclusive doll, Qai Qai.

Serena has even confessed that Olympia has helped her in many ways. Indeed, they are the perfect example for other moms who might be questioning themselves.

Where will Serena play next?

Williams might play at the Italian Open 2021 to prepare for the French Open. She has been working hard on the court for the last couple of weeks with Coach Patrick Mouratoglou.

Given her enthusiasm, the American will unquestionably be one of the top favorites in Rome and Paris. However, her performance will depend on her fitness consistency.

Hopefully, Serena will stay fit throughout the two tournaments and try for the titles. The Italian Open will play out from May 9 – May 16, 2021.
