Jinder Mahal Makes Main Roster Return to WWE RAW With a Win

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal made his long-awaited in-ring return on the latest episode of WWE RAW (10/5/21). The ‘Modern Day Maharaja’ was accompanied by Shanky and Veer.

Ahead of his match, Mahal appeared on a backstage segment with the duo. He proclaimed, “nothing smells better than fresh competition.” He introduced Veer and Shanky to WWE Universe and promised to remind everyone why he was a WWE champion.

Mahal then faced Jeff Hardy in singles competition. Both men gave their best to overpower the other. Ultimately, Mahal came out as the winner. He countered a Twist of Fate with a jumping knee and hit The Khallas for the win.

Mahal has suffered injury-induced breaks since 2019. The last one put him out for nine months before he returned at WWE Superstar Spectacle earlier this year. He then appeared in WWE Main Event and defeated Hardy.

Drew McIntyre would love to face Jinder Mahal

During their first stint with WWE, Drew McIntyre and Jinder were both members of a trio called 3MB. They racked up multiple wins before they were released.

Both men came back to WWE following years in the Independent Circuit and both won the WWE Championship. Not only this, but both men are the first of their descent to win the title, Drew being the first Scot and Mahal being the first of Indian descent.

Beyond the ring, the men are good friends, Mahal was even a groomsman at McIntyre’s wedding. “The Scottish Psychopath” recently expressed he would like to face Mahal in the ring.

“I see Jinder Mahal looking healthy right now and I don’t see him in a story,” McIntyre said in a recent podcast. “I’m hoping Jinder and I get to do something down the line. Much like Sheamus and I, we have a real history with each other.”

He spoke about how people praise McIntyre’s title reign but hate Mahal’s. The latter might feel “a little upset” as well. “He’s been out a year and a half, maybe he feels disrespected. There’s a lot of possibility from a storyline perspective as to why Jinder Mahal would come after Drew McIntyre. I feel we could do some cool stuff together because we have such a history,” McIntyre concluded.
