Jinx nerfs and jungling made easier – The five biggest changes in League of Legends Patch 11.10

Riot Games have released another League of Legends patch. With it, comes controversial changes to the jungle and long-awaited nerfs for Jinx.

The previous patch was all about setting up for pro-play with the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) tournament currently underway in Iceland.

Patch 11.10 has brought a wide variety of buffs and nerfs, as well as the gorgeous Arcana skin line and some eye-catching bug fixes – one allowed Akali to deal double damage with her E if the target was near a wall.

The full patch notes had a lot to cover so here are the five major talking points:

Darius nerf

Darius has regularly terrorised top-laners in solo-queue, particularly this season thanks to the active of Stridebreaker which allowed him to close the gap for his engage.

Riot have hit that combo by increasing the cooldown of his E, Apprehend, at all levels so that the Noxian cannot all-in his opponents as often. That should make him less oppressive to lane against.

Jinx nerf

Though it had been in the game for a while, more players recently learned that Jinx’s ultimate didn’t have capped damage against epic monsters meaning she could out-smite junglers around Dragons and Baron.

That has finally changed as her R now only deals a maximum of 1,000 damage and the AoE damage has been capped to 800 against epic monsters.

On top of that, Jinx has had her base armour reduced so she should be a bit more vulnerable – particularly in lane.

Lux buff

Lux is one of the most popular champions in the game but the mage has been underperforming heavily in mid and support.

To give her a small boost, her E has now had its damage and its AP ratio increased which will particularly be important for mid players as it substantially improves her wave clear.

Yuumi buff

Ever polarising, many LoL players would have been happy to never see her again. But, Yuumi could be back in contention after a couple of buffs.

Riot wants to make Yuumi players more active in lane by increasing the base and empowered damage of her Q.

Jungle update

Finally, we have the big one. Jungling has become the most unpopular role in the game so Riot has made it less volatile and a bit easier for new players – much to the dismay of high elo jungle mains.

There are a lot of changes so we’ll simply summarise the most impactful parts. Camp respawn timers have been increased by 15 seconds so that junglers have more time to gank and survey the map.

Comeback experience is back as junglers two levels below the average level of everyone in the game will receive bonus xp from large and epic monsters. Omnivamp on jungle items has been decreased but the heal from Smite at max health has been increased.

And to finish it off, jungle camp damage has been decreased but camp health and gold have both been increased.
