Kevin Lee Announces Massive News for UFC Fans- Will Change Weight Class on Return
Kevin Lee is changing weight classes once again. The former interim lightweight title challenger is moving up from the weight class where he made his name and established himself as a top contender once again. Lee moved up to welterweight in May 2019 when he took on Rafael dos Anjos. The fight did not go his way as he succumbed to a loss against ‘RDA’.
After the fight, Lee moved back down to 155-pounds and secured a stunning knockout win over Gregor Gillespie. In his next fight, he took on the red-hot Charles Oliveira. Lee succumbed to a loss as he dove right into a guillotine choke and was submitted in round three. ‘The Motown Phenom’ also missed weight coming in at 158.5 pounds. Consequently, he has decided to move back up in weight once again.

A move up in weight to 170-pounds makes sense for Lee given that he has had trouble multiple times in the past making weight at 155-pounds.
‘The Motown Phenom’ went a step further to call out his opponent for his move back up. He tweeted, “@PlatinumPerry we fighting July 10 or what @seanshelby @danawhite”

Mike Perry is 1-4 in his last five fights. He is currently on a two-fight skid having succumbed to a loss against the likes of Tim Means and Daniel Rodriguez. He will be looking to bounce back into the win column with a win in his next fight.
Lee on the other hand is 2-3 in his last five fights. In his most recent outing against Charles Oliveira was his last fight at 155-pounds for the time being. ‘The Motown Phenom’ will be hoping that a fight against Mike Perry will be the perfect opportunity to kick start his career back at 170-pounds where he is yet to secure a win.
