Scarlett Moffatt spent an entire day searching online for nose jobs after people made fun of her face.

The former Gogglebox star, who is now an ambassador for Samaritans, revealed how she turned to the mental health charity when cruel comments about her appearance became too much.

Scarlett has been speaking out about her mental health as she joins Metro.co.uk’s Mental Health Awareness Week takeover, serving as guest entertainment editor on Thursday.

She is also set to answer questions from readers as an agony aunt, offering advice on anything from how to manage bullying online or in real life, to how to boost your confidence.

The trolling was at its worst after she won I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016.

Speaking on Tuesday’s Lorraine she recalled how, ahead of filming a new project, she spent the day on Google searching places to get her nose done.

Scarlett, 30, said she felt her personality was coming under fire as she has always liked the way her nose looks.

‘I got trolled about my nose. I remember everything seemed to get on top of us. People saying, “You’ve gone too far with surgery, rhinoplasty experts say she’s gone too far” and this is just the nose I was born with,’ she told Lorraine Kelly.

‘I was bullied when I was younger so I did suffer with self-esteem issues anyway, but my nose was always something that I loved about myself.

‘All of a sudden I had this new thing to hate about myself because everyone was telling me it was awful. I remember I was meant to film something and I actually sat and Googled the whole day to see if I could find a surgery where I could actually get a nose job to make my nose bigger.

‘I just felt as if my personality was being attacked. My looks were being attacked and it just felt like a lot of pressure.’

She also confessed she would sometimes struggle to leave the house because of nasty comments.

‘I remember getting to the front door and freezing, like my body wouldn’t let me open the door,’ Scarlett said.

‘I pretended to my family I was working away but I wasn’t, I was in bed. I didn’t want to worry anyone or be a burden.

‘I just was so sad, I was so sad and I dialed Samaritans and hung up out of fear, but I finally found the strength to call. I gave a fake name I said I was “Charlotte Muffin”!

‘I got to block out all of the noise and there was no judgement, and I could rant about how I was feeling. I called again the next day, then I had the courage to talk to my family and then a GP.’

The Saturday Night Takeaway star added: ‘I hope people can see you can go full circle.

‘I’m helping the charity that helped me.’

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
