From BTS to Everglow: K-pop comebacks in May 2021 to get excited about

It’s full steam ahead for K-pop releases as May 2021 looks set to be another jam packed month for comebacks after an April that didn’t disappoint.

This month is a solid reminder of why K-pop has taken off – any style goes – and coming up we have everything from 80s vibes to disco.

BTS, the biggest boy band in the world and K-pop icon Taemin join fabulous girl groups like WJSN in the round up for May.

So for a little something new to pop on your playlist this month, read on.

May 12

WJSN The Black – Easy

WJSN unit WJSN The Black are going to drop debut single album My Attitude, led by the title track Easy.

This sub-unit of the girl group is made up of Seola, Exy, Bona and Eunseo.

Wonho – Ain’t About You

Ain’t About You, a bittersweet break up track featuring singer Kiiara, appears on Wonho’s album Love Synonym 2: Right For Us which dropped in February.

Rocket Punch – Ring Ring

Yeonhee, Suyun, Yunkyoung, Sohee, Juri and Dahyun are back with another sweet sounding track, following 80s vibe K-pop girl groups are owning at the moment.

Fromis_9 – 9Way Ticket

Fromis_9 is back to make you Feel Good with more Fun with their travel-themed comeback, led by the single 9Way Ticket – which works because there’s nine members in the group, see?

SM Entertainment’s newest girl group aespa are taking things to the next level with their May comeback. And their virtual counterparts are along for the ride too.

To mark the occasion, the girls will front a comeback showcase to be aired on release day on V Live.

Taemin is thankfully going to bless us with one more release – the mini album Advice – before he begins his mandatory military service on May 31.

After the unreal success of their last English-language single Dynamite, BTS is hoping to do it again with Butter.

The seven members will give their first ever performance of the track at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

Everglow – Last Melody

Everglow are following up their September release La Di Da with this cryptic teaser for Last Melody.

Hopefully it will be as explosive as their 2019 debut Bon Bon Chocolat.

TXT – THE CHAOS CHAPTER: FREEZE

Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai of Tomorrow x Together are gearing up for the release of their second studio album this month.

They’ve released a suitably cool video that fits with the ‘freeze’ concept. We’re getting chills.
