‘Get His Legs Back’: Former NBA All-Star Puts Out His Views on James Harden Return for Brooklyn Nets

Today, Brooklyn Nets have most definitely become the scariest side in the NBA after the reign of the Warriors ended in 2019. Although they’re placed #2 in the EC rankings, that does not give away the actual picture of their hidden potential. With James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant playing together, the NBA Power Ranking is theirs to top.

However, the trio never really showed up consistently and that stopped the Nets from terrorizing the league. First, it was KD missing the games, then there was a little Ky stretch, and now The Beard is out for more than a month. So what are the chances of them playing together before the postseason?

James Harden almost ready to make a comeback

The Beard has not shown up on the court ever since April 5 after enduring a hamstring injury. Now, this happened right before Kevin Durant was finally ready to make his return, and it further stopped the trio from playing together. However, now the latest update suggests he can show up against the Spurs.

In a recent interview, 8x NBA All-Star Vince Carter discussed the positives of James Harden’s return. The Raptors legend expressed, “This is an important stretch for them. It’s money time. It’s going to win time and they wanna dominate. And in the first round, for their team to get some cohesiveness, some time together, understanding, that makes it six and a half games together. Now they will probably get nine and a half/ten games together, it’s an even number, so it sounds good, but they wanna take care of the business in the first round. So, it’s important for James to get his legs back more than anything, to get back and rip.”

Until today, the Big Three have played only seven games together and they still have a chance to play three more.

What lies ahead for Brooklyn Nets?

The first round for the Nets will be a cakewalk because they’ll most certainly play the winner between the Celtics and the Hornets. The C’s are anyway weaker without Jaylen Brown and the Hornets stand no chance against a stacked-up Nets. So, the killer trio will have at least four of those games to bring that chemistry before the second round.

The offensive ability of the Nets, that took a hit in Harden’s absence, will again be back. Plus, they have forward Joe Harris as another prolific starter to help during the rotation. From the bench, Blake Griffin, even while averaging just over 20 minutes, has shown some promise. So the Nets are an obvious favorite to win the conference, and Harden’s return will only make it a more foreseeable fact.
