‘Has That Little Bit More Swagger’ – Vikings’ Justin Jefferson Compares Kirk Cousins and Joe Burrow

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a rookie campaign for the ages. Breaking the all-time record for most receiving yards by a rookie, Jefferson etched his name into the history books.

Breaking the record previously held by yet another Vikings player, the legendary Randy Moss, Jefferson has well and truly announced himself to the league.

Now entering his second season in the NFL, the wide receiver will hope that his plays will help the Vikings reach the playoffs in 2021.

Jefferson, who was part of the LSU side that won the national championship in 2019 was slated to be a first-round pick in 2020. And the #1 overall pick in the same draft class was his college QB, Joe Burrow.

While Burrow head to the Cincinnati Bengals, Jefferson landed in Minnesota with the 22nd overall pick.

During a segment of The Herd, Jefferson was asked whether he has found any similarities or differences between Burrow and his current QB Kirk Cousins.

“Kirk and Joe throw similar balls. They don’t not the strongest arms, but they’re going to get it to you exactly where you need it,” said Jefferson.

But the wide receiver soon weighed in with how his college QB is different from Cousins.

“The thing about Joe that’s a bit different is that he has that little bit more swagger. He has that confidence on the field.”

Jefferson also said that he admires Burrow’s courage to take hits as a quarterback.

“He’s not scared to get hit. And I feel like as a quarterback, that’s a big trait to have. Especially to be as young as he is. He’s a phenomenal quarterback,” he added.

The young QB sure had a lot of praise for his teammate from college. Burrow is still seen as one of the most promising young talents in the league.

After showing signs of his brilliance in 2020, his season was cut short due to an ACL injury he picked up in Gameweek 11 against the Washington Football Team.

Burrow though is set to return in time for the 2021 NFL season. And when he does, he’ll be reunited with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Burrow’s LSU teammate who was drafted by the franchise in the 2021 NFL Draft.
