How to download and see ALL the info your iPhone or Android has collected about you

EVER wanted to see of the data your smartphone has collected about you?

It is possible to download a report about the information Apple and Google has on you and we’ve rounded up the steps for Android and iPhone users.

How to see what data Apple collects about you

Both the Apple and Google data reports will reveal things like your basic account information[/caption]

To get a copy of your data from Apple you first need to go to the Manage your Apple ID section on the tech giant’s website.

Then, sign in using your Apple ID.

Next, scroll down to the ‘Data & Privacy’ section and click ‘Manage Your Data and Privacy’.

The, click ‘Request a copy of your data’.

Apple keeps a record of things like all the times you’ve sent an iMessage or FaceTimed and a history of the Apple devices you have bought[/caption]

Here you’ll be able to select the specific data you’d like to see by clicking the relevant boxes.

Then, click ‘Continue’ and choose a file size.

All that’s left to do is click ‘Complete request’.

You should receive your data report on the email address associated with your Apple ID but bear in mind this can take up to seven days.

Google’s website has a special section on which you can request to see the data collected about you[/caption]

A Google support page explains that “you can export and download your data from the Google products you use”.

This includes your emails, documents, calendar entries, photos, YouTube videos, account activity and some other data from your Android phone.

You have the option to create an archive of your data records and download it.

To do this you need to go to Google’s Download your data page.

Google products that have collected your data will already be selected for download.

The click ‘Next step’.

You need to select a delivery method for your data archive such as “send download link via email”.

Then you can pick an export time of either “One-time archive” or “Scheduled exports”.

You will also be able to select a file type and archive size.

You’ll then be emailed a link to the data you requested.

This could take a few minutes or a few days depending on how much information you asked for.

You can also submit a data access request if you require something more specific.

Bear in mind, data deleted from storage systems cannot be recovered.
