Tom Brady Could Break All-Time NFL Passing Record at New England Patriots’ Backyard

Tom Brady has won all that there is to win and then some in the NFL. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB is a 7-time Super Bowl winner with his most recent triumph coming just last season.

But Brady will mostly be remembered for his time at New England. Alongside Head Coach Bill Belichick, the duo tore up NFL defenses for years. 

Establishing arguably the greatest dynasty in NFL history, Brady will forever be a legend at Foxborough. And it looks like Brady might end up breaking yet another all-time NFL record where it all began.

Tom Brady chases Drew Brees’ passing record 

During the offseason, Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Drew Brees, announced his retirement from the sport. The New Orleans Saints legend left the sport as the league’s all-time leader in terms of passing yards.

But Brady is not far behind. While Brees retired with an astonishing 80,358 passing yards to his name, Brady ended the 2020 campaign with 79,204.

This means that the Bucs quarterback trails Brees by just 1,154 yards. If one goes by Brady’s numbers from 2020, the QB averaged close to 290 yards a game. 

So by doing the math, one can assume that Brady will surpass Brees’ record by Week 4 of the 2021 season. And the football gods could not have scripted a better place to see the historic event go down.  

While the NFL is yet to release the full list of fixtures for the upcoming season, several sources have confirmed that the Buccaneers will travel to the Gillette Stadium to take on Belichick’s Patriots.

Breaking the record itself will be a big moment for the quarterback. But breaking it at Foxborough would be the cherry on the cake.

But as it goes with Brady, one record just isn’t enough. If Brady manages to beat the Patriots that day, he’ll become only the 3rd quarterback in league history to beat all 32 teams in the league.  

A feat only accomplished so far by Drew Brees and NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning. With two records on the line, which do you think is more likely to tumble in Week 4?
