Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show becomes first late-night talk show to welcome back live musical guests
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon became the first late-night show to welcome back live musical guests since the pandemic began.
The long-running NBC series has had a number of in-studio guests in recent weeks and Wednesday night saw viewers enjoy the first live performance, courtesy of J. Period.
The Hip-Hop producer performed All in Your Head featuring The Roots member Black Thought and Tiffany Gouché.
His song, which is the first single on J. Period’s Story To Tell (Chapter One) project, also features narration by Dave Chappelle.
Dave was a guest on the night and he brought his own crowd along to help promote his new podcast, The Midnight Miracle..
The comedian, who recently launched the audio series with Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey, revealed that the podcast will also be available on vinyl – because why not?
The Tonight Show made it back to its home Studio 6B at 30 Rock (the Rockefeller Center in New York) on March 22.
Jimmy and the crew were delighted to get back to normal after over a year at home and then some time in Studio 6A as they worked around coronavirus safety measures amid the pandemic.
As musical guests and a live in-studio audience are finally back in the mix, it really is starting to feel like things are getting back to normal.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights on NBC.
