Miro Brutally Dominates Darby Allin to Win His First AEW Championship on Dynamite

AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin and Miro went head to head on this week’s AEW Dynamite (12/5/21). Although Darby tried his best to defend the title, Miro had the last laugh as he emerged victorious from the main event bout.

“The Bulgarian Brute” started dominating the champion even before the bell rang. He constantly threw Allin around, overpowering him. The champ was already weakened from his concrete steps fall last week.

Meanwhile, Darby Allin‘s attackers from last week, Ethan Page, and Scorpio Sky laughed at Allin’s distress. They attacked Allin’s mentor Sting from the ringside, weakening Allin’s morals as well.

Still, Allin tried to come back into the match with two consecutive Stunners before attempting his Coffin Drop finisher. However, Miro blocked it with a suplex and proceeded to make Allin pass out with the “Game Over” maneuver.

Hence, the ‘Best Man‘ won his first title in AEW. Following the match, Page and Sky attacked Allin. Lance Archer ran it to confront Miro as the show went off-the-air.

Miro sent out a message to the locker room following his win

After the win, Miro decided to settle some old scores. Ahead of their bout, Allin remarked how Miro is a just character who spends his time playing video games and whatnot. “You show up the hottest free agent just to talk about video games and be some best man. You’ve gotta be the most underwhelming Thing I’ve seen,” Allin wrote.

After his victory, the champ just replied to Allin’s tweet with a picture of him holding the title. Following that, he sent out a message to the AEW locker room saying, “LINE THEM ALL UP!!” You can see both the tweets below –

Allin’s accusation of the Bulgarian being a video gamer was not false. Over the few months, fans have criticized AEW for using him as “Kip Sabian’s Best Man.”

On a press call last year, AEW president Tony Khan revealed the reason for Miro having the gimmick. “Whether people know it or not, we’re re-contextualizing Miro. I don’t know what Miro was supposed to be before he came to AEW,” Khan said.

In WWE, Miro fka Rusev played the role of a Bulgarian heavyweight. But Khan wanted the current Miro to reflect “some element of their personality, where they bring themselves into it.”

In AEW, Miro reflects his own personal trait of a gamer/Twitch streamer through his new personality. After his win, hopefully, the fans will see more aspects of his gimmick.
