UFC 262: Kevin Aguilar vs Tucker Lutz- Early Prelims Prediction and Analysis

UFC featherweights Kevin Aguilar and Tucker Lutz will meet in the middle of the cage at UFC 262. The bout takes place as part of the early prelims section and has been earmarked by fans to be an exciting back-and-forth scrap. Both men leave it all on the line and will compete against Barboza and Burgos for ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.

He lost his last outing to Charles Rosa via split decision and hasn’t been able to execute his game plan. Chiefly, Kevin Aguilar cannot afford another misstep as he takes on the ever-dangerous Lutz.

Kevin Aguilar has proven himself to be a versatile striker and is an avid headhunter from close range. However, he doesn’t let slide the importance of body strikes and usually tends to keep an even pace throughout the fight. He’ll have to be wary of leg kicks which could be a huge hindrance to his forward momentum late in the fight.

Tucker Lutz is on an 11-fight win streak and hasn’t lost a fight since his pro debut back in October 2015. After two successful appearances on Dana White’s Contender Series, Lutz finds himself with a big opportunity. What’s more, the ESPN+ showcase that the early prelims provides will be beneficial when looking to scalp a big win.

Tucker Lutz is a fundamental fighter with somewhat plotting movement that allows him to land heavy strikes. However, he’ll benefit greatly from being mobile with his movement when facing Aguilar who’s well primed to make dynamic decisions.
