AT&T Byron Nelson Final Round Weather Forecast: Will It Rain at TPC Craig Ranch?

The AT&T Byron Nelson is back on the PGA Tour calendar. The tournament is conducted at a new venue this year but hasn’t moved away from Texas. The TPC Craig Ranch has played a great host so far, and how do the weather conditions look ahead of the final round on Sunday? 

It is no secret that the golfers are out there enjoying their game at the TPC Craig Ranch. The par-72 layout is one of the top golf courses in Texas and undeniably the best in the McKinney area. 

The wind is certainly a major factor in every golf course in Texas. So it wasn’t surprising that the first two rounds were heavily affected by wind gushes. However, this did not stop the golfers from giving their best as there were several low-scoring rounds recorded in the opening 36-holes. 

Round 3 at TPC Craig Ranch had a weather forecast of cloudy skies taking over in the evening. Wind gushes were expected heavy speeds, but Sunday’s forecast looks even more daunting.

The AT&T Byron Nelson 2021 is poised for a thrilling finish at its new venue. There are several golfers who are contending for the title, but there is a possibility of the final round getting suspend for some time due to thunderstorms. 

The weather at McKinney, Texas will reach a high of 72° during the day, and a low of 66° at night. The players will feel the humidity on Sunday morning during Round 4, and winds are expected at 17 mph.

Moreover, there is a 61% chance of precipitation in the morning. Accuweather predicts that the final round will be affected by thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Winds are expected to gush at speeds reaching 29 mph in the afternoon with 99% cloud cover above. 

The thunderstorms are more likely to hit during the morning or afternoon than the evening. Hence, players in the morning wave should be wary about the conditions more than the others. It can quickly get very tricky. 

There is a 39% of a thunderstorm during the day and a 41% chance at night. Rain is most likely to affect play, and the winds are expected to majorly hinder the course conditions on Sunday. Four hours of rain is predicted to fall on Sunday, May 9, and one can only wait and watch if it happens.
